Studio Number One presents SIMPLE PLEASURES at Subliminal Projects, an on-going series of cultural investigations into the things we love, admire, obsess and collect.

SIMPLE PLEASURES 01 is curated by Zach Gibson of Studio Number One, Joel Speasmaker of Forest, and Jusin Van Hoy of The Dutch Press.

SIMPLE PLEASURES 01 will showcase independent publishing and experimentation in zine making from Los Angeles and beyond. We'll be taking over the studio parking lot, filling it with music, and setting up tables and tents for over 20 different exhibitors to sell their merchandise. The exhibition will be followed by a panel discussion inside Subliminal Projects exploring topics such as the role of accesible art, modern book design and the means of content development.

05/29/2008 SUBLIMINAL PROJECTS

SUBLIMINAL PROJECTS is a multifunctional gallery space promoting diverse forms of art while providing a forum for contemporary dialogue. The gallery recently relocated to the historic Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. As part of the grand re-opening, Studio Number One was asked to rebrand the gallery, including an updated logo and style guide, invitations, calender of events, business cards, gallery signage, and new website.

Google offers the ability to create a personalized iGoogle homepage that gives you at-a-glance access to key information from Google and across the web. iGoogle's flexible interface enables you to choose and organize content ranging from classic video games to weather reports. As part of a global collaboration, Studio Number One was asked to design an iGoogle artist theme. The proceeds were donated to Self Help Graphics and Arts, a community visual arts center located in Los Angeles

05/29/2008 SEVEN GRAND WHISKEY BIBLE

Studio Number One's on-going relationship with 213 Inc. allows us to produce a wide range of work, from letterpressed business cards for The Doheny, to tee shirts for Golden Gopher and seasonal window displays. That being said SNO jumped on the opportunity to create a beautiful leather bound "Whiskey Bible" for Seven Grand. The 32 page menu features a metallic foil stamped cover, blind embossed ornamentation as well as pages of vintage illustrations and witty anecdotes.
